John is married and lives in Ayr. After graduating from the University of Aberdeen and working in Glasgow, he returned to Ayr in the 1988 when he joined Kilpatrick & Walker. An active Church member, John is much involved in local charities, serving as Treasurer/Secretary of the Ayrshire Society for the Deaf and Chairman of The Maclaurin Trust.
John was a Teaching Fellow at The University of Aberdeen, is a Legal Member of the First Tier Tribunal for Scotland sitting in cases relating to Charities as well as Parking and Bus Lane Appeals. A former Dean of Guild and past Dean of Ayr Faculty of Solicitors, John regularly advises Charities and Community Organisations. He provides a range of services to new and established Businesses, both local and national, including advising on new business start-ups, acquisitions and sales, and, succession planning for family-run businesses.
He also advises on all aspects of Property Law and Private Client areas with an emphasis on the agricultural community. He gives advice in relation to continuing and welfare powers of attorney, guardianships, wills and the winding up of estates.

Harry attended school in Girvan and Ayr before obtaining his Law Degree and Diploma in Legal Practice from University of Dundee. He practised for 9 years in Dumfries and Galloway before joining Kilpatrick & Walker in 2020.
Harry, who lives in Girvan and has strong connections there, provides clients with advice on all aspects of Property Law, rural matters including agriculture and diversification, together with tenancies and partnerships, as well as all other aspects of the Firm’s business.
In his spare time you can find Harry fly fishing, looking after his young family or playing double bass in the local folk festival.

Kelvin is from Ayr and attended Belmont Academy. He left Ayr for Aberdeen in 2013 to study at Robert Gordon University where he graduated with an LLB Honours in Scots Law. He then studied at Tilburg University in the Netherlands and took an LLM, before returning to RGU where he completed the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice.
Returning to Ayr in 2020 to train with the Firm, he qualified as a Solicitor in January 2022. He advises clients in all areas of work covered by the Firm with a particular focus on Property Law as well as advising local businesses.
In his spare time Kelvin enjoys keeping fit and is a keen runner, often taking part in the Great North Run.

Amy graduated from the University of Strathclyde with an LLB Honours in Scots Law and completed her training as a Solicitor at a firm in Glasgow in February 2023. She joined the Firm in early 2024.
Amy is a former pupil of Belmont Academy in Ayr and has a number of local connections. As a Private Client Solicitor Amy has a particular interest in Wills and Powers of Attorney as well as management of Older and Vulnerable Peoples finances. She can help clients with inheritance tax planning and in the administration of trusts and executries. Amy is also able to assist with matters which relate to litigation.
In her spare time Amy enjoys long walks in any weather.
